High School • Lettered in basketball, volleyball, tennis and soccer for the Lady Bulldogs • Won the Metro basketball championship as a freshman, and later the state basketball title as a sophomore • Earned Most Valuable Player honors for soccer • Won the 1980 National Junior Title in the Giant Slalom Professional • Member of the US Ski Team • Competed in three International Ski Federation (FIS) World Championships and two Olympics • Won a gold medal in the Giant Slalom at the 1984 Sarajevo Olympics • National Women’s Giant Slalom champion in 1987 Other • Member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) Alpine Demonstration Team • Snoqualmie Resort’s Alpental Ski Area named its main run (“Debbie’s Gold”) and its main chair lift (“Armstrong Express”) in her honor • Inducted into US National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame
